I No Longer Believe

I no longer believe
Yes, this is true. There was a time when I believed with all my heart and soul that there was indeed a Santa Claus. When I started attending school, I found myself among unbelievers who presented me with facts and reason dealing with the subject. Based on these facts and reason, I ceased believing in Santa Claus.

I No Longer Trust
There was a time when I completely trusted my wife with all my heart, soul, and mind. Then the unthinkable happened. She ceased being faithful to me. She took out credit cards in my name and ran them up to the hilt. She left me for another man. Even with attempts to reconcile, it reached that point where it was impossible to trust her ever again.

So, yes, it is possible to believe and then cease to believe. It is equally possible to trust and then cease to trust. As an evangelist, I have often implored people to believe on Jesus Christ. I have pleaded with people to trust in Jesus Christ. Now I have a new challenge: To KNOW Jesus Christ.

You can cease believing or trusting in Him, yet He abideth faithful, He cannot deny Himself. You are still saved, however you have returned to walking in darkness. We are to walk in the Light as He is in the Light.

The Apostle John explains in 1 John 5 why the epistle was written. "I have written these things that you might KNOW you have eternal life." This is important. You can quit believing. You can quit trusting. But you can't quit knowing. When you KNOW the truth, it is impossible to be swayed from it.

GROW in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is where we mature. This is where we become like Him. He is the firstborn of many brethren.
Quit being you and start being Him.
