The Florist

This incident definitely made my blog. My son and I went by our local flower shop to buy a floral arrangement. As we approached the shop, the shop owner, who was standing outside talking to someone, blocked our entry into the store.

When I reached for the door handle, she stepped in front of it and demanded, “What do you want?”

“I want to buy an arrangement,” I stammered out, a little surprised by her disposition.

“What kind?” she demanded again.

Noting the sign in her window about wrapped flowers, my son asked about those and she answered, “They’re just wrapped, no vase or anything and we do not deliver those, either.”

WOW! I just turned and walked away.

My son later told me that he and his friend had gone in there one day to get some flowers for Mother's Day and as the owner stood in the middle of the shop, she refused to move or step aside to allow them passage. He said she was the same way, demanding and wanted to know what they wanted as if they had no business being in her flower shop.

My son and friend quickly left empty handed. Suffice to say, I will not be going back. I had done business with them for years but now, I’ve gone elsewhere.
