Arthritis

Arthritis is no picnic or day at the beach! It's rough.

Arthritis runs in my family and has been ornery to me as of late. I know that in the past I have read and shared about Ground Elder as an aid against gout. I have done a bit more reading and it has come to light that it is helpful for arthritis and for the pain of sciatica. I have decided to dedicate myself to a regime of using the Ground Elder to see if it makes a difference.

I made vinegar and a tincture. This morning I am drinking a tea of the Elder. I will dry some as well and could also put it in a capsule too. It will probably go in a smoothie or a salad. It a detoxifying and cleansing the body and can therefore be used as an herb supporting the work of the liver.

Modern herbals recommend ground elder as a treatment for gout, sciatica, rheumatism, haemorrhoids, inflammation, and water retention.Externally used as a poultice for wounds, stings, burns & painful joints.

I'm not sure how it works for sciatica pain but I will be doing more research.I imagine you could make an oil and salve. However for me I shall give it an honest effort to use her gifts. I know that there are also other things to be done too,but for now, please share if you have any experience or knowledge on this herb that loves to overtake a garden.
