Brother Mike's Christmas Message

As many of you know, I was laid off last March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I was already drawing my retirement and only working about 20 hours weekly anyway, so it was anticipated. It had been a great place to work for the past 19 years.

However, over this past year I have been like the Army's Ready Reserve. You know, you used to work somewhere but they can call you back at anytime...which they did.

I have been cautionary about how much I worked, because if I earned over $25,000 the IRS would tax my Social Security. That cost me over $500 last year. The good news is, that has been upped to $50,550.

I was called in on the 23rd and was pleasantly surprised. They had catered in Count Porkula for the shop. Bodacious pulled pork sandwiches and ribs...including pasta salad and fried pie. Exquisite.

When I got my food to my work station, I discovered a Christmas card from my boss. How nice. Within the card I found a very generous Christmas bonus by way of a VISA gift card. (The IRS doesn't have to know about this!)

2020 has been a tough year for everyone: A pandemic thrust upon the world by the Chinese, businesses and schools shut down, the mainstream media spreading downright unAmerican propaganda, the Democrat elites committing election fraud in the Presidential election.

As I have said, if you look for the bad, you will surely find it. But if you look for the good, you can find that as well. Family, friends, generous employers, and most of all, Jesus loving Christians.

I was fired this year as a LRFD Chaplain. It seems the Assistant Chief has no concept of the First Amendment. Andover Chapel was shut down due to the pandemic and the attendance by senior citizens. I'm in the process of losing my oldest brother due to stage 4 cancer.
But I've got Jesus.

I still preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in spite of the objections of the Assistant Chief. We the nonresidents of Andover have been meeting covertly and fellowshipping around God's Holy Word. My brother may be losing his battle with cancer, yet Jesus has him in the palm of His omnipotent hand and the Victory will be His!

Despite the adversity of the world, the Good News of Jesus Christ will not cease to be broadcast boldly by this preacher. He is the ONLY Savior and our only hope.
That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown!
